Updates from LWB

November 21, 2007

I have received two emails from LWB with updates on both programs our sponsored children are in. This email is about foster care which relates to our Emma:

Dear Melissa,
I wanted to update you on the status of our foster
care program. At the beginning of November, the
children started moving into their foster families.
Almost all of the children are now with their foster
family, and hopefully adjusting well to the more
individualized care they are receiving.
Our Henan facilitator, Stephanie, is going to visit
the families this week with our new monitor for the
program. She hopes to place the last couple of
children with families while she is there, as well as
train our new monitor on what he needs to do during
each monthly visit.
Some of the LWB team visited Xinxiang in October, and
were able to visit both the orphanage as well as the
families who will be fostering the children. The
families live in a unique village setting with
apartments surrounding a nice courtyard. Heidi Reitz,
our Foster Care Director, reports there will be lots
of space for the children to play outdoors. The
apartments are also bright and spacious.
I cannot wait to get our first reports from their
visits, and see the pictures of the children with
their families. We should have reports to send to you
in the next couple of weeks.
I am so grateful to you for providing Emma a family so
she can know the love and care that comes with being a
“daughter”.
Most sincerely,
Nancy Delpha

I also received a  report about the visit they took to the schools. It includes updates, information, and photographs. If anyone wants to see it leave a comment with your email address and I will send it to you. I should be receiving some photographs of Gracie soon.
